The post should probably be 'Made In Indonesia' since the products that are featured came from all parts of Indonesia. But Since Jakarta (which is the capital city of Indonesia) is situated in the island of Java and is pretty much the centre of consumerism out of the (estimated)237 million people. I think its pretty much easier and sound better to define the style and fashion moment that I'm on about.
For those of you pretty people that doesn't know where Indonesia is. Here is a map that'll make your IQ higher ;)

Really there's nothing much happening in the country besides
...Ummm well the fact that Indonesia has 365 native language and spoke Bahasa Indonesia as their main official language; 300 ethnic groups; more or less 450 tribes; 100 active volcanoes; and not to forget spoilt by choice travel destination that will blew your head away if you're really into nature and mysticism.
Well if you really want to learn about the more polished fact about my country of origins then your best friend (but not mine) Wikipedia will keep you up-to-date ever so freely.

Anyhow my main point is that with such a diverse taste and large surface area to cover and the ability to live harmonically since 1945. Indonesia is quite some place that seems pretty good to start or extend business opportunity within the consumerism and creative industry .
I'm dying to see how myself as young and curious generation of Indonesian who study Textile abroad has a place within the industry in this beautiful country in the next couple of years.

4 of my recent bookmarked Indonesian site that kept reminded me to 'where I am from':

1. A good starting point to order wholesale ethnic and organic jewellery in very good quality from
Bali Fashion Accesories.
2. Rather cute traditional batik pattern from very crafty and colourful online order site Simplight.
3. A very stylish and creative Fashion editor of Bazaar Indonesia magazine Dewi Utari.
You can steal her eclectic style in her 'oh so adorable' boutique mi-casa-su-casa in south Jakarta.
4. The timeless silhoutte and modern concept of Nikicio is definately something to keep our eyes on. I can't imagine how exciting the world of fashion blog will become when they start to open their online shop. I really wish that the Team of the brand is working on a safe and super quick International buying/shipping service, so that I could legally own a piece of their creation.

Season of the witch.

Reality bites sometimes. It has forces me to move away from my devoted internet screen of the blog/social network world and keeping in touch with my close friends.
So once again apology for the almost dead and gone long new post.

I had so many beautiful gift in the past couple of months from my other-half that I'm dying to show off and so many people that I've walked past with so much interesting details on their outfit that I'm dying to stop them and take pictures of them politely. Boohoo but my petite and basic digital camera was nowhere to be found.
So I'm really trying to re-think of how to share all the things that makes me happy for you guys to enjoy but also keeping it personal without sounding too moan and desperate at the same time.

Now that I've decided on what I really want to study in life and not trying to pretend someone that I am not. The new Semester of University life is also demanding a lot energy which also has affected my health, stress level and sleeping pattern in the past couple of weeks.
Following a balance and healthy lifestyle sounds really easy to do it, but when you're living independently with hectic schedule Monday to Sunday and little budget. I think it may takes a little while to get use to it and to think of it as an easy breezy way of attitude.

I've also been un-shamefully spending far too much on books, I-tunes store and evil ebay for neglecting to save for a finer things in life like travelling and saving up for the future. In result on cleaning up my act on spending, I manage to resist the temptation on buying silly handful of clothes in H&M, HarveyNics and luxury Online shopping website by simply saying 'NO more'; all the usual 'DO I really need another .....?' question; and literally crying my heart out trying not to become to attach the stuff (expensive stuff especially).
I'm not sure how long I can take this challenge to myself (cutting back on shopping 'stuff', facial, and organic grocery) especially with the excuse of Christmas coming along. But I'll give it my best and hardest effort in order to get my health back and most importantly the health of my saving account to be better and at it's best performance.
Ready steady GO...

Life's peach

Well... at least for a good afternoon tea at Eteaket anyway.
It was such a lovely day in Edinburgh I somehow need to rest my eyes and my legs for a cup tea and a good place to sit down. And this particular tea shop offer the most moist and sweetest carrot cake I've ever had along with many types of teas with excellent health benefit or simply teas that matches the mood that you're in that day.
The turquoise and white themed tea cafe was suggested by a very nice lady who owned Kakao boutique that's hidden away in Edinburgh best kept secret Thistle Street.

The boutique was cleverly edited with beautiful pieces that ranges from quality pieces by local accessories designer, basic organic pieces, and classic pretty silhouettes from Scandinavian label.
With such a friendly and knowledgeable personal service directly by the owner of the shop I feel that the shop is just one of those rare and great places to find something for everyone (female) and no doubt will make you want to come back season after season.
In the picture above Karin is wearing handmade leather headband by Copenhagen based designer Whiskey Tango.

Before heading to Raphael to Renoir exhibition at National galleries of Scotland I snapped a colourful looking boy at the 40,000 sq ft Topshop in Princess Street.

Going up the stairs towards Edinburgh Castle and on my way toward Victoria Street via little alleyways, felt like going back through medival times for a couple of seconds when you looked at the architecture details of the city.
The evening finishes with a 'September Issue' by R.J Cutler and a sunset over North Bridge whilst waiting for the last bus towards home.

24 hour date with London

Living in a place that's totally the opposite of a big city makes you really appreciate the details of what's going on around you. So here's what I could squeeze during the speed dating visit with an amazing city called London.

Invited by amazing new friend, I start the day with a cup tea at the roof of Last.fm office and enjoy the view of Old street scenery.

Whilst waiting in South Kensington station I saw a really summery dressed girl who were also (seemed to be) waiting and standing still out of so many people rushing back and forward and stands out from the crowd.
A friend that were supposed to meet me at 12 dot pm were stuck in a hot traffic jam. So I walked around the area and had a quick bite of Smushi at Madsen, a rather friendly and clean Scandinavian restaurant.

Once my friend arrived we had super filling slice of cake and cupcake from The Hummingbird Bakery. To burn off the highly content sugar we walked a little towards the V&A museum to see Future collection from MA Fashion 2008 graduate of RCA.
In the aim of sitting down in a shaded area of some park. We managed to stopped by at 2009 Postgraduate show of Royal College of Art and saw some really impressive work of art, jewellery, and photography.
My favourite one was by Ioanna Gouma, Gediminas Vysniauskas and sharon Green.

As much as me and my friend wanted to lay around in the grass under the shade at Kensington Ga rden.
We pulled our lazy bum up and off we went to another exhibition in Royal Academy to see a very exciting work collection by Kuniyoshi.
For some reason the heat seems to be twice as hot as the actual temperature, so we cooled ourself down and picked up some sugar craving macaroons at Laduree which is just 2 minutes walk from the gallery.

After the usually clothes scavanging along Regent Street high street and headache trip to Topshop mecca we recharged our battery at this really big portion, friendly, quite, and super delicious chinese restaurant in Gourmet Garden at 35 Great Portland Street (used to be buffet apparantly).

Before the end of a fantastic evening, the last rendevous was quick dinner at Mexicali and a long digesting session at Curzon cinema to watch Synechdoche, New York by Charlie Kaufman.

Eley Kishimoto is one my favourite company who made me fall in love with fun colours and print.

I was lucky enough to attend a very aspiring talk by Mark Eley in the beginning of May and made me even more determine to save up even more for one of their original pieces from their 'Jet Set Masala' collection.
Their online store is especially well managed and you may even get a suprise little goodies as soon as you open your order.

I've already filled the 2009 diary into a very playful fabric sample notebook.

Last Week I did a very hectic mini trip to Manchester for a night visit of Futuresonic festival.
Before the show I made the time to buy more books and Italian Vogue at Magma bookshop in 22 Oldham St, getting colour inspiration from a kingdom of bling called The bead Shop which was situated on the 3rd floor of thrifty 'Affleck’s Palace'.

While browsing and avoiding the rain outside. This girl were kindly enough to let take a snapshots of her quirky detail of the silver accessories.

This darling has been having 'an early twenties' identity crisis.

I was delighted when I went to visit The Knitting and stitching show in Harrogate and saw the amount of younger generation of people who came and support this type of event and bought crafty materials like crazy.

Ohh I love the shoes and the sailor detailing on what this girl is wearing.

Selvedge stands showed a what a lovely goods they reviewed and sells.

Noriko Sawano's Knitwear was simply breathtaking.

Interesting used of material and plaited grain stem by Veronica Main.

And gorgeous Lace work by Joan Davis.

But the highlight of the day was trying out on making real lace with this old lady from Laceguild using pillow and lace bobbin. :)
