Window Planting

There are so many hidden gems around central London. The art book shops and small galleries around Green Park are specially worth to look at if you're looking for inspiration. I love seeing the little plant box that are placed outside the window display. Stripes print by Sonia delaunay caught my eyes with its red and black combination. My highlights from this particular walk, was to see the beautiful gold lace brocade dress of Chanel and the beautiful oriental print fabrics that are used to fill up the space.

Another street that I found it most stimulating was Cecil Court, WC2N. Old prints that were produced since 300 years ago and limited edition quality antique books were sold side by side with very knowledgeable shop owner.

Cecil Court is a very quite street and very pleasant place to be at for those who can respect the fine leather bindings of second-hand book, and those who can admire the plates of great illustrators such as Arthur Rackham, Kate Greenway, and Beatrix potter.

Village Ranger

Wednesday is 'Vintage Market Day' in a quaint little village of Holmfirth. Collectibles books, toys and beautiful linens were displayed in their indoor market space. I had a marvelous time just wandering around the steep hills of coobles street that lead to nowhere and sometimes delightful little independent shops.

When glorious sun was out last week. A spontaneous stop at the Breary Marsh wild park lead to some textural inspiration for my next textile project. Close up details of barks, and ounces and ounces of white hydrangea never tires me to study them through different angles.

The few hours walk around the wild park takes me back to some very enchanting photography direction of Ulyana Sergeenko 'Forest fairy Tale'.

Coming up Roses

I absolutely love walking in and around the grandeur Temple Newsam.

I was not expecting the Rose garden was colourful and has the most wonderful smell of perfume that linger in the air. Yes. Truly.

I'm not sure if I'm rather sensitive with odour, or was I overwhelmed by the amount of petals that were there?It's like the flowers were evaporating their sweats due to the heat.

A brief exercise of the day lead to some snapshot taking session with my mobile-phones. I was just in time to jam my phone memory with images before the rain falls.

I do like Maria Erikson's backdrop setting of Charlota' photo-shoots with similar type of garden such above.

I rarely saw a lilac rose that smells intensely wonderful.

Imagine a dense layer of vanilla musk under a top note of your average Rose smells, in a splash top note of bergamot. There's a rather unusual complexity of sweetness that I would very much like to have it to cover my natural body-odour.

There's always something about a man who aren't afraid to wear pastel shades or wearing floral print. I don't think it lessen their masculinity or so ever.

I don't mind looking at these editorial spread from Russian GQ.

Sometimes I like to steal a little spritz from my father's perfume collection to avoid the over flowery smell that mostly marketed for summer season.

When I look at the last two bottom images on the left I can imagine the smell of subdued base notes of rosewood, vanilla in a hint of tobacco smell. Then a vetiver and cedar as the middle deep scent.

A good retail nowadays definitely rely on good services, good products, and how easily can costumer see what the business has to offer clearly.

Those three places mentioned above are some of my favourite haven spaces that tick all the boxes and great if you're looking for inspiration around a fantastic city called Leeds.

1. Graphic design play big part around Paper scissor stone trendy boutique.

It's so nice to still find a retail business that encourages hand printed Graphic design work to be displayed and for sale towards their young, fashion driven, and design wise costumer.

2. 3 floor of fantastic details are just the icing on Leeds main Library's building. Extensive collection of their Creative related subjects of books (Art, music, textile, and fashion) is a must place to visit if you are in the centre of Leeds.

It is situated next to a wonderful Henry Moore Institute Gallery, and Tiled Hall Cafe with their mouth licking cake to offer and comfortable chair to have your daily fix cup of tea.

3. Headingley is another area in Leeds that's worth to visit if you have another stretch of 1 hour to browse around. Perfect for those curious vintage lover in search of finding the best unique garments for the 'Indie soul'.

Not only that the price is right on Vintage Wardrobe, but immaculate condition on vintage items are well sourced in its relax, compact, and very friendly environment.

Below is Nicole who own the boutique with her fresh styling intake of the simple green dress on the day that I visited the place.

She was also kind enough to spare few minutes talking about the new collection of dresses and 'cut to the point' menswear that were Fair trade and Ethically produced in Srilanka .

Naughty by nature.

I first noticed how flirtatious and beautiful bamboo lingerie can be, by Enamore via Makepiece in Todmorden.

This particular item is made from soft silk hemp and finished with silk ribbon.Luckily I have enough clean and comfortable lingerie that will hold its frills and function till a couple more seasons.

However Luva Huva has been on my radar for few years now for their casual English summer rose feel in pastel colour.

I love their Cherry blossom dot boxer.

I am also very much inspired by

Scrumptious and alluring feel of Scrumpet & Pink, which are handmade by Liza Z Morgan and Melania Propet in the UK.

The trouble with facial fashion is that,

it look damn good on the outside but not so good when you want to impress your future mother in-law.

Hairywood look is one of those tricky style that could either be a hit a miss on a man who refuses to shave for few days and let it loose. The free spirit 'facial fashion' luckly has been tamed intellectually by Goldberg and Pitman's with its classic casual clothing is fantastic quality of fabric.
